Director  Rasulzoda H.H

   Dear friends and guests!

For me, as the Director of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee of Environment Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, it is a great honor to welcome you to the official website of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Republic of Tajikistan.

In the rapidly changing conditions of political and economic situations in the modern world, the stability of the domestic economy must be strengthened before the influence of external factors. In this regard, the activities of the Government    of Tajikistan are always aimed at improving the quality of human development, so special attention is paid, including to climate change.

As you know, the Republic of Tajikistan is a country of civilized and hospitable people, and in terms of climate and weather unique in the world (from the Message of the Founder of the World and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon).

In geographical position it is the southeast of Central Asia and is considered as a mountainous country. About 93% of its territory is occupied by mountains, while about half of the territory lies at an altitude of over 3000 meters. Absolute altitude ranges from 300 to 7495 meters above sea level. In the west wedged desert and semi-desert areas, which gradually move to the foothills, and in the east the territory of the republic adjoins the giant mountain ranges and plateaus of Central Asia. Such a geographical location causes a great variety of natural and climatic conditions.

Since the weather, climate and water cycle do not know national boundaries, international cooperation on a global scale is extremely important for the development of meteorology and operational hydrology, and also for benefiting from their application, and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) represents the framework for such international cooperation.

Since 1993, the Republic of Tajikistan is a member of WMO, which in turn is a specialized agency of the United Nations and an authoritative source of information for the UN system. In the case of hazards related to weather, climate and water that are the cause of all natural disasters, meteorological services, which is also the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Republic of Tajikistan, provide vital information for issuing advance warnings to save lives and reduce damage to property from Adverse natural phenomena.

In particular, the activities of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Republic of Tajikistan should be specially mentioned, that it not only forecasts the weather as a whole in the republic, but also monitors extremely dangerous glaciological and hydrological phenomena: pulsating glaciers, snow cover thickness at various altitudes, breakwater lakes, mudflows Phenomena, avalanche regime and prediction of natural phenomena.

It also studies and predicts the hydrological regimes of water bodies (rivers and lakes), the accumulation of moisture reserves in river basins and the expected water content for the growing season, the provision of emergency information on the expected hydrological phenomena posing a danger. In addition, it monitors pollution of atmospheric air, surface water and radioactivity (gamma radiation), the issuance of operational regime information on environmental pollution and monitoring by soil. The Agency is unquestionably contributing to the solution of problems related to climate change. For this purpose, the Center was established (2004), which coordinates climate change activities in Tajikistan in fulfillment of the Republic's obligations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

An undeniable and invaluable contribution to the sustainable development and well-being of nations is brought by the Meteorological Service of Tajikistan and in cooperation with other institutions of the country, supporting the implementation of a number of environmental conventions and playing an important role in providing consultations and assessments to the Government on relevant issues.

Meteorology, like any other science, developed on the basis of society's needs. Even at the dawn of his existence, man tried to understand the surrounding nature, including weather phenomena.

The meteorologists of Tajikistan try to convey their knowledge to the maximum number of people interested in nature, related to it with deep respect and love. We with pleasure share with such people knowledge and experience in meteorology. We publish the most detailed meteorological information in a professional format, while commenting on the causes of weather changes.

Thus, the site of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Republic of Tajikistan is a source of information and inspiration for all where high-quality and diverse meteorological information is offered to residents of the country, and first of all detailed information about the actual weather and weather forecasts in a professional format.

I thank all those who use and are interested in the site of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Republic of Tajikistan: the inhabitants of Tajikistan and other countries of the world, and I wish that the hydro meteorological information that you have taken will bring great benefits in your life.
