Review session of the 2nd Component of the Roadmap for Strengthening Early Warning Systems in Tajikistan

On June 6 of this year, the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Environmental Protection Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan held a meeting to review the 2nd Component of the Roadmap for Strengthening Early Warning Systems in Tajikistan with the support of Early Warnings for All and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) with the participation of ministries and departments of the country.

        In the opening speech, Deputy Director of the Agency for Hydrometeorology, Baidulloeva J. A., And she emphasized that in the context of climate change, with the growing potential of the country's economy, the role of early warning against natural disasters (a sharp change in water levels in rivers, mudslides and avalanches, unstable climatic conditions, etc.), which can cause widespread damage to infrastructure and even threaten the lives of the population, plays a key role in mitigating the consequences Disasters are primarily the incoming hydrometeorological information from the Agency for Hydrometeorology.

        The early warning system includes 4 main components, including component -2 (observation, monitoring, analysis and forecasting), which was presented for review in the form of a "Roadmap for strengthening early warning systems in Tajikistan", where in the future, to fully implement the tasks provided for in the document, to interact with other departments of government agencies, and also strengthen cooperation with neighboring countries.
