On 18 March 2026, a delegation of the Agency for Hydrometeorology under the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, led by the Director of the Agency, Mr. Qurbonzoda Abdullo Habibullo, took part in the opening ceremony of the high-level event dedicated to “World Glacier Day 2026: From the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation 2025 to the Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences (2025–2034),” which was held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
It should be noted that the high-level event lasted for two days and served as an official transition phase from the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation 2025 to the Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences (2025–2034).
