April 7 of the current year, a working meeting was held between the Director of Agency for Hydrometeorology Abdullo Qurbonzoda and representatives of the Asian Development Bank, including Jiangfeng Zhang, Director of the Agriculture, Food, Natural Resources, and Rural Development Sector.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current status of ongoing initiatives, including the “Managing glacier loss and water security project”, and paid particular attention to the preparation of a new project in the field of hydrometeorological services and disaster risk reduction. Key areas of cooperation were identified, including the development of technical capacity, infrastructure modernization, and enhancement of service delivery.
Special focus was placed on the preliminary agreement of the technical and financial parameters of the prospective project, as well as on the approaches for its further development. Participants exchanged views on priority tasks, discussed possible mechanisms for interaction, and reaffirmed their mutual interest in strengthening bilateral partnership.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue close cooperation and coordination to ensure the effective implementation of planned initiatives and achieve sustainable results in hydrometeorology and disaster risk management.
