From April 7 to 10, 2026, meetings of the National Coordination Committee on the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) were held at the initiative of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Representation in the Republic of Tajikistan and the Global Environment Facility.
Specialists of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, along with representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, higher education institutions, and research institutes, actively participated in the meetings. The main objective of the event was to strengthen interagency coordination, enhance national readiness to meet the requirements of the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF), and further improve the national climate change reporting system.
During the event, participants were provided with detailed information on the commitments of the Republic of Tajikistan under the Paris Agreement, as well as on international requirements in the field of transparency and the submission of national climate reports. At the same time, discussions covered issues related to strengthening institutional capacity, improving the collection and analysis of sectoral data, and enhancing coordination in the preparation of national reports.
In particular, the meetings featured extensive discussions on key topics such as “Methodology for Tracking Climate Finance,” “Preparation of National Climate Reports,” “Mitigation and Adaptation as Core Components of Nationally Determined Contributions,” “Gender as a Factor of Climate Resilience: Sectoral Analysis and Entry Points,” and “Requirements of the Enhanced Transparency Framework for National Reporting: Practical Aspects of Data Preparation and Submission under the Biennial Transparency Report (BTR),” as well as other climate change-related issues.
Participants also exchanged views on improving mechanisms for sectoral data collection, strengthening interagency cooperation, integrating gender considerations into climate policy, and enhancing the quality of national reporting.
Following the event, the parties expressed their readiness to continue close cooperation, further develop the methodological framework, and strengthen national capacity for the preparation of national climate reports.
