As part of the cooperation program between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Tajikistan, a training course on meteorological observation technologies and modern weather forecasting systems was held from April 21 to 24, 2026. Sectoral specialists from the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the course. The main objective of the training was to reduce risks associated with hazardous hydrometeorological phenomena through the use of modern technologies, as well as to study the components and maintenance methods of Automatic Weather Stations (AWS).
It should be noted that the training course was also aimed at revitalizing the framework of cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of weather observation and forecasting, as well as at establishing networks of automatic observation systems.
Upon completion of the training course, eight sectoral specialists from the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan were awarded official certificates.
