On 26 September 2026, as part of the International Scientific and Practical Conference entitled “Tajikistan’s Sites on the UNESCO Lists: Recognition of Romit as the Country’s First Biosphere Reserve and Prospects for the Conservation of Natural Heritage,” an environmental clean-up campaign was held along the riverbank within the Romit Biosphere Reserve.
The leadership and staff of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan actively participated in the initiative, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility, patriotism, unity, and solidarity.
During the campaign, various areas of the Romit Biosphere Reserve, including the riverbank and adjacent areas, were cleared of different types of waste. Landscaping and general sanitary clean-up activities were also carried out to improve the condition and appearance of the area.
The initiative contributed to raising environmental awareness, promoting environmental protection, and maintaining the cleanliness of natural areas. It once again highlighted the importance of every citizen’s contribution to preserving the country’s natural heritage and environmental resources.
