On October 5 of the current year at the Agency on hydrometeorology of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan a solemn meeting dedicated to the "Day of the state language of the Republic of Tajikistan" was held, which was attended by the management, structural units of the Agency and media representatives.
Deputy Director of the Agency N.Sh. Sheralizoda made a congratulatory speech and congratulated the Agency staff and all residents of the republic with this significant date. Sheralizoda N.Sh. noted the following: "On July 22, 1989 at the tenth session of the Supreme Soviet of Tajikistan the "Law on Language" was adopted. However, some of the provisions and norms of the language law formalized under the previous system over time, that is after twenty years of its implementation could not fully meet the growing needs of society in the country in the era of independence. Therefore, it was necessary to develop and adopt a new "Language Law" for the protection and development of the Tajik language.
To this end, the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On the State Language of the Republic of Tajikistan" was approved on October 5, 2009 and this date was officially declared "State Language Day" and included in the list of state and national holidays.
We must constantly strive to stabilize our state language, try to make its vocabulary rich and colorful, raise the status of Tajik as the state language in all spheres of society and state life. The study and knowledge of the Tajik language and care for its development and implementation is one of the most important tasks of the society of Tajikistan.
