On May 2, 2024, the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in cooperation with development partners held a workshop on "Strengthening the capacity of the Republic of Tajikistan to comply with the Enhanced Framework for Transparency under the Paris Agreement", which was attended by representatives of ministries and agencies of the republic and foreign organizations.
The main objective of the workshop is to present information on the country's commitments under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Capacity Building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT) to representatives of line ministries and agencies, as well as public organizations.
It should be noted that the Paris Agreement was adopted at the twenty-first Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and entered into force on November 4, 2016. The historic agreement aims to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change and requires all Parties to establish robust systems for monitoring reporting and verification of actions and efforts to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
