On May 17, 2024, the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Environmental Protection Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), held a consultative meeting of members of the interdepartmental Technical working group on the topic "Strengthening the capacity of the Republic of Tajikistan to comply with the Expanded Transparency Framework under the Paris Agreement", during which Representatives of the ministries and departments of the republic, and the media took part.
The main purpose of this meeting was to provide information on the country's obligations under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change initiative, to understand the country's obligations under the Convention's Capacity-building for Transparency (CBIT) initiative to representatives of key ministries and departments, as well as public organizations.
It should be noted that the Republic of Tajikistan fully fulfills its international obligations under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement, and in this regard, special attention is paid to monitoring and inventory of greenhouse gas emissions, the introduction of a transparency structure in accordance with Article 13 of the Paris Agreement.
