The participants of the seminar are government agencies and organizations working in the field of adaptation and climate change in the Rashtsky district and the city of Garm.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide government agencies and international organizations with a summary of the state of climate processes in order to ensure a thorough and effective approach to adaptation measures necessary to assess vulnerability to climate change in six key sectors of the Rasht district, such as agriculture, transport, water resources, energy, forestry and construction industry. Vulnerability assessments conducted for six priority sectors will also become part of the document of the National Adaptation Plan of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the two-day workshop, the impact of climate change on these priority key sectors of the economy of the Rasht district was discussed and data was collected by international experts for use in the preparation of sectoral adaptation plans. In the future, the plans will be submitted to key agencies for review and approval and submitted to the Government of Tajikistan.
