From October 8-10 of this year, a seminar was held within the framework of "Vulnerability assessment of six priority sectors and development of sectoral adaptation plans" for key sectors: energy, water resources, agriculture and transport of the Republic of Tajikistan, organized by UNDP together with consulting companies (CIVITTA) and (CAICO) with financial support from the Green Climate Fund in close cooperation with the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The main participants of the seminar are representatives of the Ministries of Energy and Water Resources, agriculture and Transport, other government agencies and international organizations, NGOs, and the private sector working in the field of climate change adaptation.
The purpose of the workshop is to present the developed sectoral adaptation plans, discuss them with participants from among representatives of Governments and development partners, as well as collect proposals and comments on draft sectoral adaptation plans for finalizing the plans.
It should be noted that the presented sectoral adaptation plans in the energy, water, agriculture and transport sectors have been developed in consultation with key ministries and other agencies of the republic. The seminar will provide an opportunity to learn the opinions and comments of key partners for its completion, which will help in the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change in the Republic of Tajikistan until 2030.
