On August 21 of this year, the management and industry specialists of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan held a bilateral meeting with representatives of the Asian Development Bank in the Republic of Tajikistan.: Thomas Kessler– Senior Specialist in Finance (insurance against natural phenomena), Samir Ismailov– Specialist in Finance, Head of the Financial Sector Office, and Dinah Connolly – specialist in financing risks of natural phenomena, climate change, sustainable development and environmental protection.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the risks of natural phenomena, including floods, data exchange, use of the disaster risk modeling interface, as well as cooperation within the framework of the "Program for the Development of Risk-based financing sectors for Natural Phenomena" and outlined a plan for further cooperation in the development of meteorological services.
