On August 29, 2025, at the initiative of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and in cooperation with the Representative Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the Republic of Tajikistan and the Global Environment Facility, a training was conducted to strengthen the technical capacity of the country's stakeholders.
The training focused on the responsibilities and responsibilities of stakeholders within the framework of the Transparency Procedure and Guidelines (MPGs) and the Broad Transparency Framework (ETF), which aims to facilitate the preparation of the Biennial Transparency Report (BTR). The event was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and departments, higher education institutions and research institutes of the republic.
During the training, the participants were presented with presentations on the following topics: "Policy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of climate change", "Overview of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by sector", "Institutional structure and commitments of stakeholders in the framework of the greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory", as well as issues related to climate change and greenhouse gas emissions.
It should be noted that the main purpose of the training is to improve the skills and coordination of national and industry specialists. This activity is implemented through training and practical mastering of the requirements for the preparation of a Biennial Transparency Report on Greenhouse Gas Inventory.
