On September 18-19, 2025, at the initiative of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the Representative Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the Republic of Tajikistan and the Global Environment Facility, a two-day training was held.
The trainings were attended by representatives of relevant ministries and departments, higher education institutions and research institutes of the country, who got acquainted with the issues of the obligations of the Republic of Tajikistan under the Paris Agreement and the mechanisms for their implementation, with special attention to the formation and maintenance of statistical data on economic sectors for the preparation of a national greenhouse gas inventory, as well as the development of a reporting system, implementation of measures to adapt and reduce the impact of risks in the context of climate change.
It should be noted that the Paris Agreement was adopted in 2015 and is an important international document in the field of combating the effects of climate change, aimed at keeping the global increase in atmospheric temperature well below 2 °C and striving to limit it to 1.5 °C.
