On October 21, 2025, on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Session of the World Meteorological Congress (Cg-Ext 2025), held in Geneva (Switzerland), the Director of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Dear Qurbonzoda Abdullo Habibullo, held a working meeting with the Deputy Director of the Chinese Meteorological Administration, Zukiyang Zhang, in charge of international cooperation.
During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of hydrometeorology, including joint initiatives to enhance the capacity of national meteorological services, exchange advanced technologies, and integrate innovative solutions based on the use of artificial intelligence in the field of meteorological forecasting.
Special attention was paid to the issues of scientific data exchange, joint research and training of qualified personnel. Both sides expressed interest in further strengthening partnerships and developing an effective mechanism for cooperation in the interests of sustainable development and improving the accuracy of predictive models.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to work out a plan of joint activities for the near future, including expert consultations and exchange of visits at the specialist level.
