On December 25–26, 2025, a national training on peer review of greenhouse gas inventories for the Waste sector was held at the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The training was attended by members of the National Coordination Council for the Enhanced Transparency Framework under the Paris Agreement, as well as representatives from relevant ministries and agencies of the Republic. The event was organized at the initiative of the Agency for Hydrometeorolog in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Representation in the Republic of Tajikistan and the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
The training included specialized sessions aimed at improving the quality of reporting, as well as mastering modern software tools of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The training contributed to strengthening the theoretical and practical knowledge of participants in the collection, analysis, and processing of data in the Waste sector and will serve as a solid foundation for the subsequent stages of peer review.
