On March 16, 2026, a festive event dedicated to the International Navruz Celebration was held in the courtyard of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event featured traditional Navruz rituals, including displays of folk crafts, national dishes, and the “Haft Sin and Haft Shin” table setting.
During the festive event, the Deputy Director of the Agency for Hydrometeorology, respected Pirzoda S.M., delivered a congratulatory message from the Agency’s leadership to the attendees and emphasized that, thanks to the cultural policy and continuous efforts of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon – the Navruz holiday has gained international recognition. At the initiative of Tajikistan and a number of coordinated countries, Navruz was recognized in 2010 by the United Nations as an international holiday and included in UNESCO’s list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, which clearly demonstrates the high value and significance of this ancient celebration in global civilization.
It was noted that such events play an important role in reviving and honoring the ancient traditions of the ancestors, strengthening patriotism and national identity, and engaging young people in a healthy lifestyle.
Another part of the event was dedicated to the display of folk crafts, national dishes, and the “Haft Sin” and “Haft Shin” tables, encouraging attendees to honor national values and preserve the cultural heritage of their ancestors.
