From April 15 to 17, 2026, a meeting of the National Coordination Committee on Capacity Building for Transparency was held at the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, with broad participation from representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the country. This event was organized in cooperation with the Representation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the event, issues related to climate transparency, climate finance, and the implementation of climate-related activities were discussed. In particular, participants addressed the following topics: “Preparation of the Fifth National Communication on Greenhouse Gas Inventory,” “Roadmap for Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) 3.0,” “Reporting Timeline under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change,” “Climate Finance in the Republic of Tajikistan,” and other important matters.
It was noted that for countries, climate finance through international funds—including the Green Climate Fund, the Global Environment Facility, and other financial institutions—is a key factor in strengthening institutional capacity. It also contributes to the development of national greenhouse gas inventory systems, improves the quality of reporting, and supports the implementation of sustainable long-term climate solutions aligned with national development priorities and the country’s commitments under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
