In the frame of 27th Conference of the Parties on Climate Change in Sharm-ul-Sheikh city of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the meeting of the Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan the Honorable Bahadur Sheralizoda and Director of the Hydrometeorological Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Kurbonzoda A.H. with Ms. Dina Saleh, Regional Director for the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, International Fund for Agricultural Development was held in the pavilion of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Mr. Bahodur Sheralizoda expressed his satisfaction with Ms. Dina Saleh's bilateral cooperation in the development of projects related to adaptation to climate change, and noted, in particular, that a new government investment project with funding from this Fund and the Committee during 2021-2022 International Fund for Agricultural Development, the Green Climate Fund and the Global Environment Fund had been developed and approved to support the agricultural sector with a view to adaptation to climate change, protection of biodiversity in Tajikistan.
Ms. Dina Saleh also expressed her satisfaction with the collaboration between the Fund and the Committee, and stated that from November 21-26 this year, an international expert will be sent to Tajikistan to design a new complementary project addressing landscape restoration and protection of biodiversity. Dina Saleh also talked about the Foundation's initiative to design a new regional project for Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to adapt to climate change, which was welcomed by the Chair.
The Chair of the Committee on the preparation and adoption by Tajikistan of a nationally determined contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and invited the International Fund for Agricultural Development to support the implementation of this document.
At the end of the meeting, the Committee Chairman Bahadur Sheralizoda invited Dina Saleh to visit the Republic of Tajikistan at their convenience, and this invitation was accepted
