On May 27-28 of this year, the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, within the framework of the project "Weather, Water and Climate Services (WWCS)", implemented by Caritas Switzerland, held a training seminar on the topic "Use and research of hydrometeorological observation networks" for specialists of state hydrometeorology networks.
The purpose of this seminar is to familiarize specialists of the state networks of the Agency for Hydrometeorology with the goals and objectives of the project, as well as with the installation and maintenance of automatic weather stations, the installation of which is funded by Caritas Switzerland and the Swiss Agency for development and Cooperation (SDC). It is planned to install 300-350 automatic weather stations as part of the project. The project provides reliable and localized services in the field of hydrometeorology, hydrology and climatology to support farms and rural populations to create an effective early warning system for climate hazards and land use management.
