On January 30, 2024, the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for the implementation of the Strategy for Countering Extremism and Terrorism in the Republic of Tajikistan, simultaneously with the implementation of the Concept of State Policy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of religion, held a meeting to clarify the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Countering Terrorism" dated December 23, 2021, No. 1808 and The Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Countering Extremism" dated January 2, 2020, No. 1655, during which all agency structures took part.
Deputy Director of the Agency for Hydrometeorology Sheralizoda N. Sh., in his opening speech, presented information about terrorism and extremism, calling it the plague of the century. In his speech, he particularly summarized that the Founder of peace and national unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, noted: - “Terrorism and extremism, on the one hand, is a serious global threat, and on the other hand, its actions indicate that terrorism has no homeland, nation and religion. At the same time, there is a threat to the global community and the lives of every inhabitant of the planet. This catastrophic phenomenon has nothing to do with religion, including the religion of Islam, and is committed using the name of Islam for black and selfish political purposes.”
During the meeting, the participants heard speeches on the accession of young people to terrorist and extremist organizations, their prohibited actions, and destructive phenomena, mainly those that are part of the plan of the interested groups.
It should be noted that in such a difficult and alarming situation in the world as modern threats and dangers – terrorism and extremism, force our society to strive for stability and unity of our country, without losing resilience, knowledge and political ingenuity.
