From April 20 to 23, 2026, a regional training course on Flash Flood Forecasting System (FFGS) was held in Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan. Sectoral specialists from the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan took part in this event.

As part of the cooperation program between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Tajikistan, a training course on meteorological observation technologies and modern weather forecasting systems was held from April 21 to 24, 2026. Sectoral specialists from the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the course. The main objective of the training was to reduce risks associated with hazardous hydrometeorological phenomena through the use of modern technologies, as well as to study the components and maintenance methods of Automatic Weather Stations (AWS).

From April 15 to 17, 2026, a meeting of the National Coordination Committee on Capacity Building for Transparency was held at the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, with broad participation from representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the country. This event was organized in cooperation with the Representation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the Republic of Tajikistan.

From April 7 to 10, 2026, meetings of the National Coordination Committee on the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) were held at the initiative of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Representation in the Republic of Tajikistan and the Global Environment Facility.

April 7 of the current year, a working meeting was held between the Director of Agency for Hydrometeorology Abdullo Qurbonzoda and representatives of the Asian Development Bank, including Jiangfeng Zhang, Director of the Agriculture, Food, Natural Resources, and Rural Development Sector. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current status of ongoing initiatives, including the “Managing glacier loss and water security project”, and paid particular attention to the preparation of a new project in the field of hydrometeorological services and disaster risk reduction. Key areas of cooperation were identified, including the development of technical capacity, infrastructure modernization, and enhancement of service delivery.

In recent days, social media, independent media, and foreign media outlets have actively discussed the ranking of the Republic of Tajikistan in terms of atmospheric air pollution. According to data from the Swiss research institute IQAir, which conducts daily global air quality monitoring, in 2025 the Republic of Tajikistan ranked 3rd in the world for atmospheric air pollution with an indicator of 57.3 µg/m³. Тибқи маълумоти пажуҳишгоҳи «IQAir»-и Швейтсария, ки ба омӯзиши ҳамарӯзаи сифати ҳаво дар ҷаҳон машғул аст, дар соли 2025 Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистонро аз лиҳози ифлосии ҳавои атмосферӣ бо нишондиҳандаи 57,3 мкг/м³ дар ҷаҳон дар ҷойи 3-юм нишон додааст. Агентии обуҳавошиносии Кумитаи ҳифзи муҳити зисти назди Ҳукумати Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон вобаста ба нашри раддабандии байналмилалӣ оид ба ифлосшавии ҳавои атмосферӣ зарур мешуморад, ки чунин баҳогузориҳо ба шарҳи мутавозин, аз лиҳози илмӣ асоснок ва касбӣ арзёбӣ шавад. Раддабандии мазкур дар асоси консентратсияи миёнаи солонаи заррачаҳои хурди дисперсион андозаашон 2,5Мкр (PM2.5) таҳия гардида, ҳамаи омилҳои таъсиррасон ба сифати ҳавои атмосфериро дар қаламрави кишвар пурра инъикос намекунад.
